At first I thought I just didn’t enjoy the authors writing style but after researching realized that I have listened to a handful of his books in the past which I did enjoy, perhaps this is just outside my wheelhouse, but I do listen to a wide range of genres. Writing was repetitive and got to a point that I could predict the next sentence almost word for word. The narrator, in my opinion, has a good voice for it but his reading cadence was often distracting, seemed to not emphasize properly, and had a bad habit of down-speaking the end of every sentence which I could not un-hear once it was noticed.
