I’ll be light on the details not to spoil the books but i think most everyone who’ve listened to the book will recognize my reservations. Although i’ll be explaining some of my criticism of the book i did enjoy it and expect to purchase the sequel when it’s released because even with some faults with the story, the characters themselves pull it trough the finish line. The narration was quite good.

The entire book is going to stretch your credulity and ability to suspend your disbelief to new heights. It employs narrative devices i’d reasonably call deus ex machina and while it’s not unenjoyable, the storytelling and pacing of the progression of the character leave a lot to be desired at the beginning…

It’s a reincarnation cultivation book and beats at some already explored concepts in the rest of the genre while adding an extra dose of incredulity in the first half of the pack. When it strays away from the incredulous parts of the book, the writing is actually enjoyable and most of the characters appealing and interesting. The characters are in fact this book’s strength. I found myself enjoying their interactions more than the combat and cultivation/omniscience aspect of the book. I expect that things will improve as the book develops further so i’m currently in for buying the sequel.

First part that corresponds to book 1 i would rate 3 out of 5. It’s just incredulous with the peak at a particular point that is rescued with the introduction of a fun new character.

Second part that corresponds to book 2 i would rate 4 out of 5 for the further inclusion of deus ex machina.

This book series would have been a lot better served if the author chose a better introduction into the world he created. Ideally starting at book 3 of the series when the MC was older and not a toddler and developing the backstory without being preassured into filling a couple of years of MC’s life as a lethal toddler.
