This book continued layering atop an already expansive world in a wondrous manner. As more of Lindon’s story unfolds, we witness firsthand his desire to ascend to greatness no matter how much hard work is involved. Given his upbringing, he has a unique perspective on everything he witnesses and does, which is refreshing.
The best thing about this series is how unpredictable it is. One moment the car is humming along in a straight line—you know the general idea of what’s going on—then the next moment the car’s swerving to take an unnoticed dirt path. It’s awesome!
I had physically read the first two books to this series. It was an easy and engaging switch to audio, as the narrator did an excellent job bringing each character to life. That said, I’m completely committed to the swap to listening to the remainder of the books as opposed to listening to them due to the narrator’s great voice acting!
