This is a compelling and emotional story of Lauren, a daughter growing up under the tutelage of her father. A father who prized self-reliance, strength and honor in people. A father who taught his daughter the ways of the forest, hunting, camping, hiking, and most importantly weapons and how to protect oneself. Her father knew the time would come when these skills would be needed and would save her life and the lives of their family. When the day came and the country began to crumble her father did not return home. Now it was up to her to put all her education and training to work, to step up and protect her family from those who would injure and steal from them. This is an excellent story, well-written with well-developed, likable characters. Kevin Pierce does a wonderful job as usual bringing everything together.
