the story is great thus far, (chapter 13), but one of the two main entities in the story being a constant and unmitigated jerk makes this story hard to stick with. A character type best suited to being a passing presence seems to be intended as a constant fixture.
If I finish the book, this will be updated to reflect if there is improvement.
