The story was meh. As many other reviewers mentioned the audio quality for the female narrator was awful, there was too much odd music that didn’t jive with the scene, the mc and the fairy had a weird relationship, and the story just plodded along. All of those individually I could deal with. However, the fairy was the nail in the casket. If I took a drink everytime she giggled I’d be passed out 2 hours in. It was just how often she laughed- it was the pitch and silliness. She sounded so childish, in a way of an adult who pretends to be a widdle baby- or the attentionseeking laugh of a pick-me. It grated on my nerves everytime. Maybe if I read the book it wouldn’t be so bad, but I doubt I would have like this flying stereotype of a ditzy female.
For transparency I dnf 3 hours to the end of the book. I had to listen to it on 1.25 speed just to get through as much as I could. However, by the end I just couldn’t force myself to listen to more.
