It was just a few months ago that I first read Neve Wilder’s Want Me, which was originally released as a multi-part serial entitled Extracurricular Activities and was then published as one condensed edition this past May. I absolutely fell in love with Nate and Eric’s story, which easily one of my top three favorite roommate trope romances ever. So when I heard there was an audiobook for it AND that it was being narrated by Kirt Graves, who happens to be one of my favorite voice-overs, there was simply no way I was going to miss out on the opportunity to listen to a story I already loved and see how it would translate on audio.

There’s a lot more to Nate and Eric’s story than it being a chronicle of their hook-ups, just like there’s a lot more to these two guys. I may have been smitten with them while reading their story, but listening to the audiobook this time around had me falling for them even harder. Their journey from being roommates to hook-up partners to far more than either one anticipated had me fascinated from the get-go. Neve Wilder’s writing continues to impress, and there’s close to nothing about it in this particular story that I can find to quibble about. I hope we get more from the Extracurricular Activities world in the future. Fingers crossed!

As far as the narration was concerned, it was the one thing that I was most curious about because I already knew how the story was going to go. With Kirt Graves being a personal favorite of mine, the excitement factor was amped up even more. I loved Nate’s “voice”, which was how I imagined this college frat guy would sound. It was Eric’s “voice”, however, that gave me pause. He sounded more like a scholarly professor than a university student, and that’s how it was throughout the audiobook. That being said, I still hold the greatest admiration for Graves as a narrator, and I did feel that his performance overall here was actually quite good. ♥
