While the first book was above average it quickly falls off starting with this book. The stat pages was a little over bearing in the first book but now it’s unbelievable how often a 5 min stat page is thrown in for no reason.
The agenda pushing starts at the last few minutes of chapter 10. Zach is explained to that he’s about to meet a person that only responds to they/them/they’re and goes into depth of the why, when, and how they often deal with prejudice. I don’t enjoy an agenda being forced in such a way that was completely out of left field. It’s so apparent that it’s the author explaining to us the reader of his own agenda.
Upon hearing the scene I paused and check reviews of the next couple of books and can see that it gets HORRENDOUSLY WORSE. I won’t refund this so others can hopefully heed my warning but I won’t be continuing the series.
