I loved the premise and the first half was full of energy. Unfortunately the rest of the book I struggled to finish. The characters aren’t that interesting, maybe because the actor playing Mary sounded too much like a school teacher. Mary as a whole wasn’t a strong lead, but sounded confused and out of her depth given her position. The relationship with the other guy (I don’t know the name of any other character because they’re not that interesting) is never really explained and it seems to go on and on for no particular reason other than they were trauma bonded.
I enjoyed the lots of actors though, that was very interesting.
