I was actually kind of disappointed in Song of the Space Siren, feeling like the Space Team idea was all used up. I’m really glad I gave the series another chance, because The Guns of Nana Joan is exciting and fun and even a little heartwarming. The story is more complex than the predecessors in the series, and it takes a different direction from what I felt was becoming the Space Team formula. The new characters that are more or less on the good guy side are fun to hear about, and I found myself really rooting for them.

Phil Thron continues to really do a great job with every aspect of relating the story. His narration is well spoken and has great timing and his characterizations are spot on.
