I thought I had a guilty pleasure of low brow humor on par with a 12 year old boy. Turns out, my limits don’t go as far as I thought. What started as shocking and amusing quickly loses its shock value and becomes repetitive and trying too hard. The cultural references are usually nonsensical and “for the sake of” rather than added to the imagery. Using some cultural references can be fun. Turning every second sentence into one feels incredibly forced.
