The story itself is great. I didnt like the semi-fourth-wall-break chapters of the first book but other than that its legit. Basically there is a harem so some sexy parts (no over explination of the sex scenes and its a “fade to black” before most of the sex scenes), there is super powers so fights and some moments of interesting uses of powers for every day situations, LitRPG elements so some stats and manipulation of stats and powers, and humor… however it is the narrator and the supporting cast and effects that make it better. book 3 is by far the one that had me laughing the most. lets just say it involves a backpack and a person with healing abilities; that part of the story is amplified by how the SBT performs it and makes it more hilarious.
if youre getting started in the LitRPG genre this is an AMAZING start. its not bogged down with stats every 2 minutes, it doesnt have long drawn out sex scenes that over explain to where you are saying “yeah yeah i get it” or worse a writer who uses the same word over and over… seriously some authors need to buy a thesaurus… this author doesnt have that problem when it comes to explaining a scene.
the only draw back to that is, if you really want 20 minutes of setting a scene because you lack imagination and NEED everything over explained, you wont like the lack of details in some parts.
overall an excellent book… i hate that books 6 and forward arent performed by SBT… but ill bitch about that when I get there. the sample clip i didnt like book 6 narration from that sample but we will see if it keeps me from buying it when i get there.
