They’re not really consistent but the narrator and whoever else did a great job with the sound effects. I’ve got to say that was quite new to me for an audiobook. Narration was well done as usual.

As for the actual story, it was good. There’s some very unrealistic situations that keep reminding the reader that it is supposed to be a game world, however realistic it may be. The main character has some serious issues with controlling his emotions though and tends to make stupid decisions, but I guess there always seems to be a way out for him… That makes it harder to feel like there’s much of a chance for him to lose at some points. And that whole thing with his shadow was weird. At least the end of this volume mostly makes sense with the background previously laid out. I am intrigued to see how this finishes.
