Phil is a good narrator who had to narrate an entirely juvenile, paint by numbers litrpg that confused jokes a 10 year old would make with humor and a good substitute for plot and substance. The introduced “Moopies” while a play on annoying children’s characters from cartoons or perhaps a scrappy doo esque character added for smaller kids in a child cartoon are… wait for it. Still annoying.

Just because you hang a lampshade on these things doesn’t make them any less annoying. The main character has not much going for him, which is well enough because frankly neither does any of the rest of the book.
