If you’re a perspective reader (and aware of the book’s genre) scan through the limited negative reviews. Almost without exception these reviews are angry about survivalism, stereotypes of those NOT prepared (even for a 72 hour power outage), or believe self-defense or self-reliance are ignorant concepts or simple-minded. In other words, they dislike the central question of the ENTIRE genre, “what if a government wasn’t there to help you, or worse, working against you?” As if history hasn’t answered those questions dozens of times already. So, if you are interested in this series, read the 3 and 4 star comments. You can see from my rating what I think…and I read a lot of different types of literature. Ten years of college will do that to a person 😉 If you’ve read and liked The Remaining or other Horton stuff, you won’t be disappointed.
