- What would have made No Man’s Land better?
- The premise of the book involves a typical zombie apocalypse survival. Other reviews mentioned a bunch of surprising twists, which caught my attention and got me interested in listening to it. Glad to report that the book does have some surprising twists that even I didn’t see coming. But just 2. Rest of the book was mostly predictable.
That’s not my gripe though. What I didn’t like about this book is poor characters. Calvin is extremely ill-prepared to survive in a zombie world and yet, he makes it. He stumble throughout the book, lets his guard down, takes poor decisions and yet survives. And then there’s Hannah. She’s supposed to be a 11 year old kid. And yet, her character acts like a battle-hardened adult. Neither of them acted their age / experience. Which made their characters unbelievable.
- What about Andrew B. Wehrlen’s performance did you like?
- Narration wise this book is pretty good. Andrew B. Wehrlen voiced all the characters appropriately. Audio quality was great.
