I really enjoy this series and recommend it to others interested in a mix of RPG fantasy with near-future tech. This book starts to get a little dark, though. So… potential negatives for a book which I’ve given 5*’s for:

* There is a lot of graphic imagery. A LOT. It’s all a game world, but it’s not impersonal. On the plus side, it’s not horror/evil either. Think gross, not horrific.

* The story begins to push the limits of credibility with the AI’s capability. Thankfully, there’s no attempt to explain the tech behind it, but if you’re tech savvy (especially if you’re a software engineer), there will be some rolling of the eyes

* Female characters really ought to be narrated by females (and vice versa)
