3/4 the way through and I couldn’t finish it. I was enjoying the weekend and the characters of this book, but then SPOILER I got to the big battle scene in the middle and everything fell apart for me. The action went on for way too long and I just found myself wanting it to end.

I listened on for a few hours after the battle hoping I’d get more plot, but there was very little to be found. There were complex emotions being described, but I didn’t feel anything listening to them. I think far fewer words would have had a more powerful impact.

I WILL look out for this author’s next book because I think she has good ideas and talent. I think she just really needs an editor.
