loved the intrigue, world, and most of the characters. the characters I loved less were meant to be slightly obnoxious as a cover for future reveals so I love them too. looking forward to book two.
wonderful performance from Mr Hays as always, and his Arnold impression is on point, but the combination became grating… until the subtlest clue tipped me off that there’s some future in that particular character. I hope. I’ll still listen to (damn near) any book with Hays as the reader but this felt slightly off compared to some of his other (wonderful) performances.
