Solid introduction to the world.

I’ll be honest, I struggled to start this book. For me the first 5 or so chapters just seemed to drag by endlessly. It does however see a marked improvement in both pace and content at about chapter 6. The voice used for Thorn’s in-game voice irritated me throughout the book, but the narrator did seem to “tone it down” about halfway through.

I did really like the book by the end and will continue the series. I’m intrigued by where the story is going at the end of the first book, and I have no doubt many great battles are to come.
