So, let me start with saying that I did not regret purchasing this book, I felt like it was good and I think I probably will get the sequel. That said, it wasn’t without some flaws. My own take on it:

Pros:

Intelligent Protagonist – the main character thinks a lot of things through and comes up with innovative solutions to problems. Nothing annoys me more than a low intellect lucky protagonist (looks at the land).

Unique World – It did feel like it was a unique world rather than another cookie cutter MMO world.

Cons:

Slow Start – It felt INCREDIBLY slow to get started. It really makes everything harder in my opinion when stories start slow. This one felt abnormally slower than usual.

Real World – It felt like there were a lot of references back to the characters life beforehand which I guess is character building but it felt like it gave less attention to the new world. Some of it might have been situations of this first book so some of this might not transfer to the next books.

Overall, the characters were decent and I felt the overall performance was not half bad. My issue is more that, the REALLY good books I read I want to hear again, and I don’t really foresee myself giving this one another read. It was decent but I guess not one I would write home about.
