This gave me a very mayor of noob town feel, but not as whacky.
The quest system makes the system a lot less open than everything suggests. I suspect this might change in book two. If it doesn’t, book 2 will be my last. I’m not really into reading about system quests, system skills and basically reading a video game. At the same time, this book is compelling. The antagonist is actually outside the game. And he’s a jerk.
