This book isn’t without its flaws, of note its unfortunate that this is a two book combination and it only hits 12.5 hours of audio. I don’t normally give books a listen when they can’t hit 10 hours of entertainment just given the basic cost of entertainment when you start looking at less time.
I really enjoy the pace of the character growth and the concept felt a bit fresh as far as the angle it comes from. Overall I would probably put it at like a 4.2 overall.
If I were to complain, I would say that I didn’t feel like the beast taiming elements actually felt like it made the book better. I would still rate it above average and its one that I did enjoy. If I see book 3 though and its significantly less than 10 hours….. I will seriously have to consider if I pick it up or not though.
