A K McBride has written an emotional story of survival. Harper was physically and emotionally abused by the one person who should be protecting her. Harper had to get away to save herself and the unborn life inside her. She had no one but herself to rely on. Moving from small town to small town. She never stayed in one place very long to develop friendships or relationships. She longed for the day, she could settle in one place. This story is set in Willow Springs, a small town, she grew to love.
Harper notices the neighbor next door. With His rugged good looks, charm, she knew he would be trouble for her. I love how AK Mcbride developed their love story , from awkward, to friendship , to trust and love. She explores the effects of Harper’s abuse, struggles, and emotions, and the complexity of two people with troubled pasts. Showing both of them at their strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments.. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
The narrators were perfect for this story. Gregory Salinas deep voice, just oozes sex. Perfect for the voice of the troubled Logan.
Stacey Gonzalez is so animated in her portrayal of Harper. Capturing her emotions, from happy, to fear and love. Her voice of 5 year old Flynn, was just magical. They both captured the personalities of each character with perfection
