This first book of the ‘Comics and Coffee Case Files’ series offers cozy mystery fans all their favorites. Kirby, the main character, is super-inquisitive and determined to find the killer of best friend Ryan. The combination coffee/comic book shop only adds to the small town charm. Engaging and likable characters abound, each adding their own unique mark to the story. Descriptions of violence are kept off-page except for a smidge near the end of the book. It’s a delightful short read.
I like Jeffrey Kafer’s narration style. He conveys the perfect tone for this light-mystery fare.
