The book continued to offer enjoyable outlandish battle sequences and zany character interactions, a hallmark of this series. However, the pacing slowed down and became somber and poignant during the section where each player faced their most traumatic revelations and fears. The exposition and world building was amply crafted and gave a definite Cuban feel to Carl’s primary location.

The book picked up again after the “sum of all fears” section and finally finishing with a dramatic ending. While the multiple narrator use for this book wasn’t bad, I still prefer the single bard approach for audiobooks.

Looking forward to book 7 and hoping it is made available with a single bard edition.
