My Review:
3.5 ⭐️ 2 🌶️

Sweet Mercy by Nina West (pen name for K.A. Tucker) serves up mafia-lite romance with a side of sizzling tension and just enough drama to keep you hooked. Gabriel Easton, the mob heir with dimples and a dirty mouth, bribes Mercy into staying with him for a week to protect her dad in prison—but don’t worry, he’s more sweet menace than ruthless villain.

The slow-burn chemistry is top-notch, but the “dark romance” promise is more shadowy gray, with Gabriel respecting boundaries and Mercy holding her own. While the dual POV adds depth, Mercy’s repeated “he’s hot but morally bankrupt” musings wear thin, and the cliffhanger ending might leave you side-eyeing your Kindle.

That said, the writing is solid, the tension is delicious, and Gabriel’s jealous-but-not-a-jerk vibe is oddly endearing. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s fun—and honestly, who doesn’t love a mobster with a soft spot? I’ll be back for the next book.
