It took me several months to get through this book. The protagonist is this extremely depressed and unhappy guy who finds fault in all the good in his life and is cruel to his dog and cold towards his family. Then he is surprised when they are distant back at him. The story is interesting and that kept me going, but the narrator had a very monotone voice that bores inside your head like my own version of Mr. Glass and if I weren’t driving and listening for most of it, I would fall asleep. Anyways, story is descent and spooky but the main character is a total jerk.
