Undoubtedly, the subject at hand was disheartening. It was priced at a single credit, which made it quite a burden. While I had found some merit in the author’s previous works, this particular one was, sadly, a complete disaster from start to finish. The characters were perplexing, and their actions and growth made little sense. In a world on the brink of destruction, people were preoccupied with intimate matters, detracting from the overall storytelling.

The recurrent theme of sexual encounters throughout the book undermined any potential the chapter might have had. Normally, I would adhere to the saying “if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all,” but this book was so poor that I couldn’t help but keep listening partly out of morbid curiosity to see how bad it could get but I hoped for the story to redeem itself.

The dialogue among the characters felt monotonous, with similar tones and self-reflections that bordered on the absurd. If one enjoys low-budget films, they might find some amusement in this work. However, for those seeking a well-crafted and refined literary experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
