Oh, my heart! I love a redemption story and Rossi oh Rossi, he had a lot to redeem for. But… there was always a hint of some good there. Maybe his ex was the only one who could see it and even then he screwed up.
When Oliver Rossi goes to a music festival in the US, where he is relatively unknown as an F1 racing driver, the last person he expected to see was Sofia Navarro, his teammate and rival’s little sister. They cross paths, as themselves, without family ties or past situations in they way and… they click… and catch fire.
Going back to the F1 circuit poses its problems. Sofia’s brother (and the whole Navarro clan) despise Rossi and want her to stay away from him. What they don’t know is that Sofia met the “real” Rossi and the real Rossi is irresistible.
This book “Simply-Just” had me from the start. Like I said, there is nothing like a reformed bad boy and when you realize why Rossi is the way he is, you fall hard for him, just like Sofia. Sofia broke my heart with how selfless she was and how deeply she loved her family, despite always being put in the back burner in their eyes. I was cheering for her to make her way to the future she desired, hoping that she didn’t have to break her ties with the Navarros to have it.
The narration in this audiobook is perfection. Stefanie Kay gives you a gentle, kind, vulnerable and yet determined Sofia. Teddy Hamilton brings all the swagger to the charming Italian, also giving him a touch of warmth and vulnerability that makes Ollie likable and, in the end, irresistible. So many stars!
