This is a good tale. The characters are well developed and likeable and one can easily build an attachment to them.
Thankfully none of the main characters do totally dumb things for the sake of stringing the story line on.
Prepping information is detailed but does not read like a shopping list or manual. It adds authenticity.
Like many of the great authors the style is simple but good.
The story holds your attention and develops well leaving you ready for the sequel.
Some of the reviews say the jumping between past and present is disturbing but I did not find this to be the case as the jumps to the past were not overly long and one is soon back with the main story, with an extra little morsel to think about.
An enjoyable listen well worth the credit.
