It took until about half way through the audiobook before the MC even started to try and play his instrument. None of the MCs experiences in his previous life made a difference to his new life, I was expecting the MC to find a way to play some modern songs from his previous life or something and finding out those songs could be used to do magic. But nope, he just picks from a list and he just some how knows how to sing and play it. At that point, why even give the MC a musical background. It was clear that though the MC was down on his luck in his original life, he was not a bad musician. But the “select a song and play it” made it so that anyone could have been the MC and his background did not matter.
