I was really into the story at first, but Sherlock Holmes was unforgivably out of character a few times. Yes, he can be cold and calculating, but he’s never cruel. And he never willingly puts Watson in danger unless Watson is fully aware of the risks and consents to it (Devil’s Foot) or insists upon it (Charles Augustus Milverton).
