Solid slice-of-life on a merchant space ship. Reminds me of Hornblower (one of the main character’s namesakes) without the battles. This belongs in the “Good people doing their best in space” story category.
If you like Anne McCaffrey, Louis McMaster Bujold, Sharon Shin’s Elemental Blessings, or Legends and Lattes; you’ll probably like this one.
