I came into this expecting another risque lit rpg, the likes of RE Life, Wraith’s Haunt, or the like. But what I got was an immediate dive into heavy jargon, point blank fetish fuel, and a main character who just feels like too much of a blank slate / author insert for me to shake off and enjoy it for what it is.

The sex is constant, and I mean that to say it’s most of what you’re reading with this. The gun-play and video game aspects don’t dive into mechanics of their own unique world and more often just spout words like “Kill death ratio” “Smurf” and “Areoli” Not to say that everyone is going to know half those terms, but for the readers you attract with books like this it just felt like I was being condescended to, much the way I felt about the explanations of guns mechanically.

It’s not the worst in that realm, but even with the character being professed that he doesn’t know much about guns it comes off as someone who hasn’t seen a movie or played an actual game in years. I might know a bit more than most about guns, and likewise I’m no expert, but so much of it felt like a pseudo-expert talking about their first time at a gun range.

Honestly I came into this wanting something good, getting excited at moments, the opening before the sudden fetish fuel was an interesting scene and take on character creation that foreshadowed a lot, but it was so hampered by the shift to easy, effortless, unearned sex scenes that I stop reading or just skip through those specific scenes, which are so prevalent I feel like I started missing important things buried between the tits.

If you can handle or want some heavy handed fetish fuel and gun play this is for you. If not, or you’ve passed your CCP tests you might find this hard to palate.
