I liked a lot of the humor, and I did laugh out loud a couple of times—which I seldom do. The stories were solid and stand-alone for each book. I did not like the ending of this “series” at all, and I suspect I won’t buy further books despite enjoying these at the start. The light-hearted stories, and the shallow but wildly variable world made for a relaxing enjoyable read. However, I see no point in making a good story have a sad ending (to me.) If a negative thing must happen in a storyline, then bring me down in chapter one, and then use the story to bring meaning to the loss. It is pointless to leave on a negative note. Without the ending I’d have been a four and buying the next book already.
