“Flaunt” is very much a book of self-acceptance, self-expression, and finding the courage to fully embrace the unique person you’re meant to be. One of my favorite aspects of this story is how Kyle is so unapologetically himself, which sets a brilliant example for his young son and helps inspire Nic to venture outside of his self-protective shell. The slow build-up of trust between Kyle and Nic, their intense and steamy connection, and how they help each other confront past hurts as their relationship progresses from temporary co-workers to one-time hookup to boyfriends feels real and their HEA is satisfying.

There are a few moments that come across as overtly educational, like Kyle’s Board meeting presentation, which pulled me out of the story a bit despite fitting within the storyline. And while the arsonist subplot didn’t detract from the overall story, it seemed to only add unnecessary angst.

Narrator Joel Leslie delivers a terrific performance here, with very distinct voices and conveying a range of emotions to match the material. I look forward to hearing his narration of Book 2 in this series. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.
