The Zack parts are much better than previous books where Zack was a completely unlikable character. After the personality reset via deus ex machina, where he went from annoying to overpowered and slightly annoying. I still am hoping he dies off, but his parts don’t ruin the book like the previous books.
Ryun is much better MC, but he gets watered-down to make room for more side character development. His parts are enjoyable even if he doesn’t have much progression growth.
The book is mostly the cleanup from the mess of the previous book. It wasn’t what I wanted, but I didn’t hate it.
I am still nursing a grievance from the previous book. But, this goes a fair way to fixing the chafe. This scratched my itch.
