Artorians plots tend more towards rambling slice of life with a veneer of plot and this one is no exception. Even so, this one felt more like the middle of a book rather than on with a beginning and ending. Even the middle of series books have more clear delineation.

For more personal disquiet, this book didn’t have nearly as much shenanigans and power exploration as I’ve come to expect and enjoy with this series, and mr Vanderkerken seems to be confusing love with being a whipping boy.

That said, it was generally enjoyable, as artorian tends to be. It was worth the time to listen and money to purchase, but I look forward to the next book having more plot, as grandpa sunny moves into the fight with Barry of the burning mind.
