I almost quit this book in the first 20 minutes. But I hung in there and I am glad I did. There were several points that I cringed at, such as chemical rockets for transcontinental flights. Plasma weapons for officers and only projectile rifles for enlisted. Come on.. But despite these points the book has me intrigued enough I will likely purchase the 2nd book to see how the story continues.
