I’ve read all the books in the Beacon Hill series, and this was at times a surprisingly sensitive portrayal of someone putting their life back together after substance abuse and family tragedy. Joel Leslie is just superb in his performance of these characters. He adds so much to the enjoyment of this great series. Plenty of sorcery, vampires, and the incredibly endearing Eroch (baby dragon). And, of course, some steam and heat (not provided by the dragon!).
