I write my review after listening to all three books. My opinion of this series thus far is that it starts out strong and slowly gets a little weaker as it goes on. I was all aboard after listening to book one but after book three I have a few more concerns.

PROS

The characters and setting are all fun.

First book felt unique and felt like it was constantly shifting and revealing new ideas.

CONS

10 hour books feel EXTREMELY short to me. Its my bare minimum requirement but honestly the cost to entertainment level isn’t great.

Books two and three felt slow paced with not a lot happening. There are stretches of time where it feels like nothing is really happening other than they are existing but with how short these books are it ends up feeling like they fumble around in the middle of nowhere until they find the end of book boss fights.

The plots for books two and three felt like they were reused. They had very similar events and I cant help but feel let down by book three even though I felt it was better than book two in that it felt like a copy and paste of the previous book.

The author uses pop culture memes in such a way that the characters don’t really break character but I found myself rolling my eyes every time. Things like star wars and G I Joe references felt a little cringe.

Overall, the story is fine I just don’t like how short they are. Book one was better than the others as well but overall I suppose its an alright story.
