I feel like cliffhangers like the one that happens here as a predatory way of holding a story hostage in order to sell books rather than focusing on the quality. It’s extremely infuriating to deal with this kinda of thing from a decent book. The litrpg genre has a problem with endings and plotting that is really starting to disillusion me to it. While the story was enjoyable at the start, and I felt like it didn’t take it’s self to seriously, it’s falling into the melodramatic bs and cliche overdone plotlines so many other books in this genre fall into. With the way this book ended I’m having trouble justifying getting the next one. It’s infuriating because I wouldn’t have felt so conflicted if the last five to ten minutes of this book where completely cut out and stuck at the beginning of the next book.
