I have read a few books where the main characters get sent to a distant non-human world and they have to find a way to survive. This book has characters anyone can like because even without supernatural aid they are determined and strong. I like these guys and I hope this series goes on for 10+ books.
Once these guys start getting closer to being apart of this world, the book shines. Cat people and all sorts of other creatures make up this world of experiments. I like the gruff guy who is damaged but straight shooter while the nerdier RPG type guy is seriously much more deadly than his kind demeanor.
All in all this fits with the “Sword Art Online” style anime I love to watch. Most thankfully these guys aren’t totally scared of the opposite sex unlike 99% anime adventures.
