I love that Franklin Horton created realistic characters, based on normal people. Since everyone has different experiences, beliefs and ideas about preparedness, disasters, and how society will behave, I think readers/listeners can relate to at least one of them. I was drawn into the story again immediately, with the action and suspense pushing me to keep going until the book was finished. This book starts where the last stopped, and we follow the characters as they each have their own struggles and obstacles… and not everyone will make it through alive. Kevin Pierce is a master at portraying the characters’ emotions and thoughts while narrating. I always enjoy listening to him narrate; excellent performance.
