Another surprising 5 star read from Rick Reed, who’s become an author I can’t help but love. This isn’t my typical read/genre as I usually like to keep things light, but Rick’s writing combined with the phenomenal narration of David Allen Vargo keeps me hooked throughout the entire book.
First, I have to commend the immersive narration by David. When you listen to a book he’s narrated, you’ll wonder why more books aren’t this enriched. The extra effort he makes to include background noises and inner thoughts you can differentiate really brings this book to the next level of voice acting.
Rick manages to take a heavy topic of domestic and general abuse and turn it into a beautiful message of hope, love, and yes, even faith.
I would highly recommend this author and especially the narrator to readers looking for something a little deeper than your usual romcom.
