So, I liked this story better when it was a movie called “Starship Troopers”. It was readable though, if a little juvenile in its depiction of military life. The drill sergeants were more hardass than is realistic.

Also, were the aliens hard to kill, or not? Sometimes it took an entire magazine or more, and sometimes a single shot or slamming one in a door to put one down.

The narrator had a rich, pleasing voice, but his telling was a bit too sing-songy, and he tended to end each sentence as if he were getting ready to wind the story to its conclusion.

All of that said, it kept my interest and I’ll still pick up the next book in the series to see what happens next.
