I think this book would’ve easily been a four star+ but the narrator was so bland and one dimensional. All the characters sounded the same he only had one tone of voice and one emotion.
Also it’s a pet peeve when fantasy authors make up words to replace others (or in this case, use foreign ones) for no reason that either relates to or enhances the story, in this case the unnecessary details was units of measurement.
Just tell me he waited an hour or a minute instead of waiting a blahblabblah.
But on the flip side, the story itself is incredible. I just wish I had picked up the book because now if I do read it, all I’ll hear is that inane narration in my head.
