This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author, but the first of this series and I can’t wait to listen to more.

Despite this being (I think) the fifth book in the series, I was able to understand what was going on. I was not left with the feeling I was lost or missing information, yet I am very keen to listen to all previous books.

Roak and his “sister” (along with several colourful companions) attempt to track down “father”- the man who raised them to be the bounty hunter/assassins that they are. Problem is, the Galactic Fleet is after them. Together they make quite the team, despite Roak won’t admit it. The banter between them is entertaining.

This is the fifth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Andrew B Wehrlen) and I have enjoyed every one. He is very good at turning a book narration into an all encompassing, listening experience.

There are no explicit sex scenes. There is violence and swearing, but not overly excessive.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.
