This series was recommended on one of my favorite podcasts, so I had to check it out. This is funny, intense, and sometimes brutal story-telling with plenty of LitRPG bells and whistles. If you, like me, find stat and loot updates mid-story to be oddly satisfying, this is just the kind of thing you’re looking for. The book does not take itself too seriously, but it presents some serious moments with surprising gravitas. Also has an excellent cat. I’m moving immediately into Book 2.
